Have you noticed that artists generally do life their own way? Of course there are many kinds of art and artists. Creating art in Feng Shui usually relates to the Fame and Children’s areas of the Bagua.
The I Ching (from which Feng Shui knowledge is partially derived ) assigns Fame to summer–specifically to the later part of June through July. So, it’s timely to focus on the Fame area in this article.
Fame is located in the center back third of both your home and lot.
Fire is the element related to the Fame area. When the Fame area of the Bagua of your home and yard are in balance, you naturally communicate to the world that you’re not afraid of being known and seen.
This area is important to each of us. We’re all artists in our own way. Each of us is creating our future by making choices that affect our path through life. The Fame area is one of the spaces that a Feng Shui Consultant will look at to predict the quality of your probable future. This area relates to your ability to visualize and, even more importantly, to actualize your dreams.
By focusing on future scenarios that excite you, rather than any reasons that can block you from moving forward toward your desired goals, you are inviting a spark of energy that will move you in the direction you wish to go.
Tips for Enhancing Your Fame Area
• Remove clutter or furniture blocking doors and windows in this area. Also, make sure they are clean and working property.
Anything blocking doors or windows is a sign that you may be experiencing confusion and not able to clearly see what you want to create next in your life–OR that you have an intense fear of what’s ahead. If you’re not able to comfortably look forward, you can’t alter the course of your life.
• Add the Fire element if it’s not already represented. You can use candles or most types of lighting. Adding triangular or other angular shapes, red or green accessories to your décor, or placing artwork showing a montage of bright colors are other ways to bring in more Fire.
• Make sure that the other four elements are represented (i.e. Wood, Earth, Metal, and Water).
• Hang posters, artwork, a vision board, or anything here that represents your goals or vision for your future here.
• If you’re experiencing fear about what’s next for you, consider also enhancing your Career area. Career is related to your entire journey through life. Possibly add moving water here (like a fountain or a waterfall) to help break up deep-seated doubts and fears. Also adjust the area of the Bagua related to your specific fear
• If the main part of your home’s Fame area is missing, a simple remedy is to place a mirror on the wall adjacent to the missing area. This can symbolically push the wall out and fill in the missing piece.

Finally, approach your life like a blank canvas and like an artist focus on the possibilities for your future rather than any barriers that may stop you. As you start to make changes, you will begin to feel more positive about your future and begin to notice signs of success.
Try anything that you’ve been putting off and that you’ve always wanted to do. Visit a new group, or engage in a new activity. All of these things will help to move you into the limelight and along your future path. If this seems risky, start small.
May the sunshine of summer warm your heart!
