The Wealth area is intimately connected to springtime. I wasn’t planning to write about Wealth this month, but I had an auspicious event happen on my own front porch. (The front door and porch is related to opportunity.)
A sweet little bird chose to build her nest in the wreath I have hanging next to my front door. My porch has been the lucky recipient of wildlife babies in the past. A couple of years ago, a newborn fawn chose to spend her snoozing hours behind a flowerpot on my porch. In both cases any rude intrusion set the little being scurrying off for an anxious moment or two. Baby deer are particularly noteworthy as they make a particularly loud screeching sound when they’re afraid.
Anyway, the particular day that I discovered Ms Birdy was the day that I was planning to change my wreath and wash my porch. Of course, her needs took precedence.

Believe it or not, you are always creating wealth. Feng Shui, however, can help you to create the type of Wealth you really desire—which can actually be different for each person.
Traditionally, many Chinese stress that wealth creation is about money and assets; but that isn’t the most important type of wealth for everyone. Many folks believe that their true wealth is related to their well-being, family, children or health–along with a comfortable living situation.
As we discussed in last month’s newsletter, Wood continues throughout Spring to be the predominant element. During this time, which is influenced by the Wealth area, Wood is about rapid growth, flowering, and ultimately multiplying by sharing its seed. Like lavish foliage, wealth needs to be “pruned” (or shared) periodically to insure its future fullness. That’s why spring is an especially good time to clutter-clear.
As I mentioned before, Wealth is not limited to monetary well-being. It is as much about lifestyle as it is about having plentiful cash resources. This means having everything that you want in life and, even more importantly, the feelings of well-being that accompany living a harmonious life. So, this area can also be about having lots of close friends, a comfortable home, healthy and happy children, abundant creativity, or anything that makes you feel wealthy.
Kitchens, even when they are not in the Wealth area, are directly related to the money aspect of wealth. (See January’s newsletter for 9 Kitchen Tips to Attract Wealth). A full pantry and refrigerator are important—providing they are filled with items that are actually used and not hoarded. Having a rotating system of incoming and outgoing food insures that this flow is always happening.
Perfect enhancements for the Wealth area are water features such as fish tanks and fountains, special items crafted from wood, healthy plants and flowers, bowls of freshly harvested fruits and veggies, crystals, and wind chimes. If you have a bird, and are able to, place Tweetie’s cage here, he will stimulate the wealth ch’i of your home.
All containers relate to wealth, whether they are in the Wealth area or not. Keep water in flower arrangements fresh and use your bowls and baskets consciously throughout your home. If you must keep your trash can in the Wealth area, make sure that it’s clean and emptied regularly.
May this season of growth bless & prosper you!
