Transitioning from the year of the Water Dragon to the year of the Water Snake

Because last year and the forthcoming Year of the Snake are both ruled by the flowing energy of the Water Element, plan to embrace the momentum of the flow, rather than go against it. If you’re drawn to new interests or activities, answer that call by at least dipping your big toe into those new experiences. You might be surprised where that interest—even if it’s short-lived—will take you.

Preparing For An Auspicious Year Ahead

Try to engage everyone in your household in the following:

• Make it a point to clear away as much clutter as possible to create space for more abundance and better health. You can start with the Bagua area that’s related to your most pressing issue or any area that you are attracted to.

• Toss or fix anything broken or no longer useful.

Also, clear the area inside and outside your front door. This is especially important, since your front door attracts opportunities into your life.  This way, when opportunity knocks, you’ll be ready.

To increase your luck in the new year, place a good luck symbol or one representing your most important goal here.  I suggest creating a personal symbol for whatever you wish to attract, although traditional symbols such as a fish for abundance, a dragon for power, and seeds or melons if you wish children, are also appropriate.

• Clear out stagnant energy by thoroughly cleaning your home.

• If home repairs are needed, take care of them–or at least schedule them.

• Pay off old debts (or be clear and in communication about them).

• Stock up on non-perishable food that you know you’ll use. It’s considered bad feng shui to have an empty refrigerator and pantry. Even empty canisters on your countertops should be filled. Toss anything that you know you won’t be eating or using.

• Clean your car. Weather permitting: plan to go to the carwash a day or two before February 10th.

• To symbolize an abundant, fruitful home, place a bowl of nine oranges in the living room or a central location in your home
• Put a healthy new plant in the Family area of your home or office to symbolize a healthy beginning to the New Year.

The above actions will help you to release any residual energy from

last year—especially if you’ve experienced loss or bad luck.

Blessings & Good Fortune As You Prepare For the Ahead!
