The Wealth Area
Last month we began our journey around the Bagua with the Family area and its relationship to safety, security, and a strong foundation. The Family area has a strong connection to wealth because our family of origin and early connections shaped our attitudes about money. With a solid foundation, your enhancements to the Wealth area will be more effective.
The Wealth area, like Family, is related to the Wood element, but rather than awakening and sprouting new growth, it’s connected to sustained growth, rapid expansion, flowering, and ultimately multiplying by sharing its seed.
Wealth needs to be shared periodically to insure future abundance. Just like bushes and trees need to be cut back periodically to keep them full and healthy, we must have a balance between giving and receiving in order to grow our wealth and prosper.
Since most of us have things we no longer need or use, an easy way to start to spread your wealth is to outflow anything you haven’t used in the last year or two—unless it has sentimental value. Your outflow can include books, clothing, papers stashed in old files, kitchen gadgets, etc. from your home and office. It can even include old emails (Tip: Delete & without reading).
If you are psychologically bound to possessions that have no use or value to you, the act of releasing them is often a more powerful catalyst to opening up the flow of money in your life than giving actual money.
The items you purge don’t have to be stored in your Wealth area to make a difference. Clutter in general causes stagnation, which stops the flow of wealth.
Wealth is not limited to your monetary well-being. It is as much about lifestyle as it is about having plentiful cash resources. It includes having all the things that you want and, even more importantly, the feelings of well-being that accompany living a harmonious life. The Wealth area includes having an abundance of friends, a comfortable home, healthy and happy children, and anything else that brings you satisfaction.
Your kitchen is directly related to the money aspect of wealth, even if it’s not in the Wealth area.
Some indications of a kitchen that promotes an abundant life are:
- A pantry and refrigerator filled with items that are fresh and actually used
- A clean stove
- All burners on your stove work and are used equally
- Counters are clean and clutter free
- Your kitchen table is clutter free and ready for you for sit down for a meal
Perfect enhancements for the Wealth area itself are water features such as fish tanks and fountains, special items crafted from wood, healthy plants and flowers, bowls of freshly harvested fruits and veggies, crystals, and wind chimes. If you have a bird, and are able to place his cage here, he will stimulate the wealth ch’i of your home.
All containers relate to wealth, whether they are in the Wealth area or not. Use your bowls and baskets consciously throughout your home. Make sure all your trashcans and recycling bins are clean and emptied regularly.
May the flow of wealth bless & prosper you!
